Bridge
A load-bearing beam that runs the width of the building. This is the primary structural component that connects the runways and moves the hoist forward and backward using a trolley.
A bridge can be comprised of one or two beams-more often referred to as a single girder or double girder design. Girders can be made of rolled steel or can be fabricated by welding the beams into a steel box design.


Trolley and Hoisting Mechanism
The trolley is a mobile platform that runs along the length of the main beams. It houses the hoisting mechanism, which is responsible for lifting and lowering loads. The hoisting mechanism includes a system of ropes, pulleys, and a motor-driven hoist drum that enables the lifting operation.
Hoist Drum and Ropes: The hoist drum winds and unwinds the steel ropes that are attached to the bulk, controlling the vertical movement of the lifted load. High-tensile ropes are used to ensure the safety and durability of the hoisting system.
Trolley Motor: The trolley is powered by motors that allow it to move horizontally along the crane's main beams, positioning the hoist directly above the load being lifted or placed.
End Truck
Located at each end of the crane, the end trucks enable the gantry crane to travel along the rails using a set of wheels that run smoothly on the tracks.
Depending on the crane's capacity, each end truck can be equipped with 2, 4, or 8 wheels, ensuring optimal stability and performance.

Controls
Control boxs are typically mounted on the crane or hoist and the pendant or remote console allows the operator to run the crane. The controls operate the drive and hoist motors, and can control Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to control hoist speed for precise load positioning.


Power Supply System
Insulated conductor bars, festoon systems (flat cables), or cable reels bring power to the crane.
